June, a Month of Men: Why?
June month is celebrated as Month of Men especially in developed countries across the globe. It core objective is to increase awareness about men ‘health care and encourages men, boys including their family regarding practices and living healthy decisions like Exercise and healthy food as well as developing healthy habits and life styles.
Why men health is important?
In our society, men are considered bread earner and guardian in our society. They have to work hard day and night to run their home, meeting all kitchen expenditures, feeding their kids and paying fee as well spouse expenditures .These are all his domestic resposbilties.In this way he looks after his family and home. So Men's health real matters.
Why men’s health a women’s issue?
Women as care giver is considered to maintain the health of family members and spouse through food and caring. She fulfills her social responsibitleis well way.
The importance of men’s health
Physical health of man is not only important for their family members and their kids. Along with this ,his physical health, mental, spiritual , psychological health is also equal important and necessary. No doubt when male have peace of mind, they can cope and focus life, job and business related issues / problems very well .
A women /girl have to become be very vigilant to cater the health needs of their family members. It is beneficial for women to take measures to maintain the health of men for the sake of family and herself. She should also take care of her personal health.
In our society ,a woman plays diverse roles at home .For example taking care of their home, family and as well health of their kids and spouse. It is the women who cares very attentively and actively. In this way ,Men’s health depends on women ,even it can be said that men `s health is in the hands of women to some extent. Men have to depend on his mother, sister, wife or daughter or house maid for some domestic affairs and matters.
Women as Care Taker and her Roles
When we think about concept of care,often one thing comes in mind first that is WOMAN,who cares kids,husband and including house hold chores, as mother,daughter,sister ,wife. A daughter who nurses his disable father,a sister who have affection for brother.
A female have very dominated role in health and education in home setting. In our society Pakistani women are very passionate about their family, kids and men.
In daily life,we observe that Nurses (Sisters) are best care givers as women,who gives special attention and care to patients.Her role have been designed for care ginven puposes only ,because women have natural instinct that gives care to her family, kids and spouse.
A woman also provides comfort and emotionally supports to their kids and spouse including meals on daily basis. All such measures help to keep overall physical mental and physical health of entire family members especially men. Due to which family members can get sick very less. Her caring role is admired in our society.
Provision of Healthy Foods and Nutrtion by a Woman
As we see that she has final and decisive role in preparing homemade foods. Normally ,a male does not interfere in these affairs .
The big question is that what type of food should be consume to maintain good health avoiding health issues or problems regarding men. In this context both partner should consult regarding selection of healthy foods.
For this purpose, women should have authentic information and knowledge about food and nutrition . A woman should select a well-balanced and full of nutrition meal for consuming. Food have its direct impact on men`s health .So healthy food is beneficial for entire family. A woman should keep in mind the healthy components.
Food and nutrition have great impact on health. A good food will help her kids and men to perform well at work and daily life activities by giving them energy.
The healthy and balanced food that can be served to men:
· Fruits
· Vegetables
· Pulses and whole grains
· Dairy Products and fat free / Low fat milk
· Necessary Proteins like Mutton ,Beef ,Seeds and Beans and Nuts
· Dry fruits
· Desk foods/Traditional Foods
A women can minimize the risk of everybody in a family by developing healthy eating habits as well improving their healthy life style.
She can adopt other ways to maintain of Family Members by using prevention and control culture like;
Ø Limit salt, sugar oil intake
Ø Low Fat Food serving
Ø She can advise them to avoid maximum soft drink(Carbonated Drink),Soda, Junk Foods like Piza, Shawarma, Burger, steaks, Processed food, Packed Food
Dining out
How Female Impacts on Family & Men’s Health
A woman can impact through following measures other than food with due support help of men ,Like;
ü Go out for recreation with family members
ü Making an out door plan with close relatives & intimate friends
ü 30 minutes outdoor walk
ü Physical activity that reduce stress and anxiety level
ü Home based plays with kids
ü Advise to Men for exercise
ü Make request male to control body weight(In case)
ü To ask them for taking exercise
ü She can caring role to reduce stress & depression in men
ü Establishing pleasant home environment
Implement Healthy Life Style
If a woman some do not acts upon on it due to laziness, or to save their time, but in the end, it will cause damage to their home and family،although it is not her responsibility but she can do for the sake of her home , spouse and kids.
Women `s role as diagnosis of diseases at early stage
Other preventive measures that can be adopted:
Beside, food and meal preparing ,caregiving and behavioral aspects, she can use her investigation skills to early assessment of diseases at early stage.
As a mother and spouse they should also focus on men /kids s health whether they are the facing any serious health issue or problems?
These symptoms include:
- Headaches
- Nagging cough
- Recurrent chest pains
- Any mental disorder
- Losing weight day by day
- Fatigue
- Backaches
- Changing color of urine ۔etc…
As most of children do not complain often about their miseries. Further partners should consult their family doctor as screening test regarding potential threat of any diseases just as a preventive measures. Early signs of disease can be detected at initial stage that can be cured well.
Above are some ways and roles of a woman helping to improve men’s health?
Early diagnosis of symptoms of diseases s at early stage helps to cure diseases effective way and treatment becomes easy.
So this is the very crucial point, no knows how body is going passing through changings, but diseases show symptoms in start. If someone is vigilant/he can judge symptoms of diseases at initial stage. So men & men should also consider aspect of health in their minds.
Why men die early (before time) or ill
Let us examine some reasons:
It is a proven fact that that women expects to live than male. It is also perceived about man that they do not care about their health. Men get sick sooner than women. Due to road accidents they die before time .Another reason that their spouse is engaged in some risky /dangerous professions and occupations that can harm their health. Poor diet is another reason, because poverty is an element which causes malnutrition & healthy food . Male have un-robust behavior ,along with ,they do not act upon healthy rules that shows their negligence to health. Due to their Because of their careless attitude and unhealthy habits they have to face diabetes, heart and cardiovascular diseases, stroke, blood pressure at early age. In some cases, here a woman can be helpful to improve their quality of life.
Leading causes of death in Pakistan
Following are some health issues, which big challenges for Pakistani Health systems and many men and woman are affected due to these lethal diseases.
Both men and women can play an important role in preventing these diseases .They can improve diet , food

Here, She can perform her role as nurse to keep them healthy with quality and healthy food and nutrition, adopting preventive measures to keep them mentally fit.
Advantages to Home and Country
Diseases and Health budgets are biggest challenges for Pakistani health system. If proper care is adopted regarding food and nutrition as well adopting health life styles, women can be help to decrease domestic health budget as well they will be helpful for economy of country .That will also be help to reduction of health budgets on diseases.

Suggestions and Way Forward
Following are some workable suggestions are given to maintain the robust health of men.
ü Exercise should be an must activity for both genders including kids
ü Train women regarding preparation of healthy meal with proper knowledge about food and nutrition
ü Illiterate and backward women should be prime focus for training
ü Train men and women ,how to adopt preventive measures of some disease that are controllable at early stage.
Good Health of men is in best interest of any family and society. Woman also matters, without help and support of women it is not possible.
It is worthy to note that women is not solely responsible for health of men, men are also responsible of their health They should be take care of themselves.
So if women want to see their beloved for long time in front of their ,they should focus on their health matters.
A happy ,prosperous family and happy country is beneficial for any society. As woman you will have to play your role with vigor way.
